Description
This series of DVDs was produced in response to student feedback. Many said they loved learning sign language in the classroom, but when they got home they forgot many of the signs. This DVD can be used in addition to classroom learning, to refresh previously learned signing skills or for someone who wants to learn independently. FIRST STEPS BSL STEP ONE – fingerspelling, exchange of names and places, family signs, exchange of info about family, numbers, number and alphabet tests, colour signs, abc song and rainbow song with music. FIRST STEPS BSL STEP TWO – my family by mandy, colin and sarah, signs for age, time, food and drink, clothing, describing people, weather, transport and useful vocab. After each section of new learning you can watch a signed conversation and/or presentation using the vocab learned. FIRST STEPS BSL STEP THREE – signs for days of the week, months and time lines, directions, work, hobbies, friends, things in the home and garden, pets and animals, emotions and feelings, 3 fingerspelling tests, 3 short stories. After each section is a conversation and/or presentation incorporating the new learning. APPROXIMATE RUNNING TIMES STEP ONE – 30 minutes STEP TWO – 50 MINUTES – 55 MINUTES STEP THREE – 55 MINUTES THESE RUNNING TIMES ARE NOT INCLUDING ANY SUBTITLED REPLAYS. ALL THE CONVERSATIONS AND ALL THE PRESENTATION STORIES HAVE REPLAYS WITH SUBTITLES AS AN OPTION. INCLUDING THESE SECTIONS, THE DVDS ARE CONSIDERABLY LONGER The Step one disc’s credits say 2010.
